Sirius XM Radio’s (NASDAQ:SIRI) P.O.T.U.S. channel, the 24/7 non-partisan news and talk channel dedicated to “The Politics of the United States,” has hired veteran White House correspondent Julie Mason to be the host of The Press Pool. Mason’s first day on air as host will be Friday, November 18th.
I am thrilled to join the talented staff of the SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. channel. We are plotting some great new ideas for this election year and as always, keeping a discerning eye on the White House. I really think fans of the channel and new listeners who tune in as the political season kicks into high gear are going to love it.
– Julie Mason
Mason is a 10-year veteran of the White House beat and longtime national political reporter. She has covered the White House for The Houston Chronicle, The Washington Examiner and most recently, Politico. She also co-hosted a daily political radio show, Mason & Jones, on KKTL-FM in Houston. She is a member of the White House Correspondents’ Association Board of Directors and a frequent contributor to MSNBC, CNN and Fox News Channel.
We launched an extensive search to find just the right person, and we found her. Julie combines wide-ranging experience with a passion for journalism and fairness. That matches the mission of P.O.T.U.S. perfectly. She’s intelligent, funny, engaging and connected — all of which will give listeners in Washington, D.C. and nationwide fresh insight into politics.
– Tim Farley, SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. Program Director
The Press Pool is a daily three-hour program airing weekdays from 12:00 – 3:00 pm ET on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. (Sirius and XM channel 124). The show focuses on political coverage through the eyes of beat reporters, columnists, bloggers, and commentators and features live airings of the White House press briefings, as well as breaking news and unfiltered audio from Washington, D.C. and around the country.
