The following article comes from Tom Taylor’s newsletter, Taylor on Radio-Info.

Lee Abrams says news and information are “what rock & roll was 40 years ago” – which is why he’s launching “Think.”

Think-meister Lee Abrams loves big ideas and this one, developed in cooperation with Steve Saslow and Brandon Davis, is very big. The plan is to “elevate the television news playbook into the digital age with a radical reinvention of the way news and information is produced and delivered.”

Think Televisual NetworkYou may recall that when Abrams was the Chief Innovation Officer at Tribune Company, he midwifed a highly-produced “no-anchor” TV newscast for one of the Tribune TV stations. Turns out he was just getting started. The former radio consultant and chief programmer at XM Satellite Radio (now Sirius XM Radio, NASDAQ:SIRI) says he and his partners in “Think” are out to “create an interactive multimedia experience that will redefine how people are informed and enlightened” – across every conceivable platform.

So far, Think is self-funded. They’re working with Boston investment banking firm Kaufman & Company on a second round of fundraising. Abrams left Tribune in October 2010, just before Randy Michaels did.
