Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) will broadcast a special two-part episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter beginning this Friday – “Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive”. Oprah Winfrey will speak exclusively with cyclist Lance Armstrong in Austin, Texas. This will be Armstrong’s first no-holds-barred interview addressing the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating and use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career.
This will be Lance Armstrong’s only interview since the seven-time Tour de France winner was stripped of his titles and dropped from millions of dollars in endorsement deals after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released an extensive report accusing the renowned cyclist of doping throughout his career. Armstrong was given a lifetime ban on competing professionally. Late last year, Armstrong resigned as chairman of the foundation he created, Livestrong, which has raised hundreds of millions of dollars in the fight against cancer.
“Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive” will air on SiriusXM’s Oprah Radio (XM Radio channel 111 and Sirius Radio channel 204 with Sirius Premier) beginning Friday, January 18th. Broadcast schedule: Part 1 airs Friday, January 18th at 4:00 am, 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm (all times ET). The full 2-part interview will air January 18th from 10:00 pm – 1:00 am; January 19th from 6:00 – 9:00 am and 5:00 – 8:00 pm; January 20th from 2:00 – 5:00 am and 1:00 – 4:00 pm, and January 21st from 1:00 – 4:00 am (all times ET).
“Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive” premieres Thursday, January 17th on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN.
